Just around the corner of Hakametsä Ice Hall, next to entrance BD, there is a private door. This door leads to the access of the Ilves Club located on the ground floor. We invite you to explore what the club entails, the incentives it has to offer and how to get the access.
The club ticket includes the food and non-alcoholic drinks, program, a seat in the stands and, of course, entry to the club. Once you enter the doors, you are greeted with nice security guards who will need to verify your ticket or club card. After the check, there are coat racks to leave your belongings before you head to the bar. Or do you head to the dinner buffet first?
The food is managed either by Restel or by a local, alternating restaurant. Before the game, they offer a buffet that is primarily healthy and delicious. There are non-alcoholic drinks available that are included in the club price, ranging from sparkling water to various sodas. After the first period, dessert and pastries are served with coffee available, which is catered from a variety of different pastry shops around Tampere. And after the second period, sausages are served with both coffee and non-alcoholic drinks available — and lots of mustard and ketchup!
Depending on your ticket, you can either have a standing club ticket or club ticket with a table reservation. Be sure to double check! The capacity of the club room is 400. When it is full, especially during weekend games, the atmosphere is quite lively and full of energy! There are usually interviews happening on stage with players and coaches to famous sports bloggers and other VIP attendees. There are also vouchers for you to enter a contest in which you guess the time of the first goal of the game – in which you could win a prize if you get it right. Unfortunately I have never won, but perhaps you could!
I asked one of the security guards about his experience working at Ilves Club. He told me that he wanted to be called JJ. His responsibilities include checking in club attendees, as well as keeping the vicinity safe and secure. JJ has been in the service for 30 years and when asked about what he loves about his job, he boasts, “I love everything about my job.” I can see why. The club is welcoming and open to all fans of all ages from all over the world. Meeting other fans and networking in the club is an experience that is unforgettable and definitely worth it.
