Goaltender Niko Parkkinen, 22, joins Ilves for the remainder of the season. Parkkinen has spent the most of the season with Mestis team KeuPa HT. Ilves adds another player to their goaltender group because of the team’s health situation.
Niko Parkkinen also played three Liiga games for JYP in the first part of the season. Ilves loaned the player rights of the 191 cm goaltender in the beginning of March for the remainder of the season and, in accordance with the rules, transfered him back to KeuPa HT. Ilves now uses its right included in the contract to call up Parkkinen to join the Liiga team’s roster.
