Forward Marko Anttila has been selected to Finland’s roster for the 2022 IIHF Ice Hockey World Championship. Goaltender Marek Langhamer is part of Czechia’s team. The tournament that is held in Tampere and Helsinki starts today.
Finland and Czechia belong to group B and play their games in Tampere. In addition to Marko Anttila, 36, and Marek Langhamer, 27, members of Ilves’ bronze medal-winning team last season, two former Ilves players have been selected to Finland’s and Czechia’s rosters.
World champion and Olympic gold-medalist Toni Rajala, 31, is included in the Finnish team. The forward represented Ilves in his junior years and was part of the club’s Liiga team in 2008–2009 and 2010–2012 seasons. In addition to Langhamer, Czechia’s goaltender trio also includes Lukáš Dostál, 21, who played for Ilves in 2019—2021.
