Tomi Pettinen has been named the new head coach of the Ilves U20 team for the remainder of the season. Pettinen replaces Miikka Kuusela in the role after Kuusela was appointed as the new head coach of the Mestis team KOOVEE.
The new Ilves U20 head coach Tomi Pettinen, 44, has worked as a junior coach for Ilves since the 2015–2016 season. Pettinen started his coaching career as the head coach of the Ilves U16 team and operated in the role for five seasons before becoming an assistant coach for the Ilves U20 team in the spring of 2020.
